Union Craft's Double Duckpin
Union Craft's Duckpin is a good IPA. Union Craft's Double Duckpin is an AMAZING double IPA. I remember the first time I had a taste of it off a growler line, I immediately bought a six pack. Then I bought another six pack. The Baltimore-based Union Craft only brews the double a couple times a year, and when you see it, you grab it. It's that kind of beer.
As a DMV resident, I think this is one of our region's finest India Pale Ale offerings, and twice as nice for being a double. It's got that burst of piney, citrusy aromas, the malty goodness as it goes down, and the bitter finish that I adore and keeps me sipping.
The teal and red Escher Jr-like art on the can makes it an eye-catcher. Confession: for an embarrassingly long time I thought it was snake scales or perhaps riffing on the idea of a peacock's feathers, only to realize it's very obviously bowling pins (as in duckpin bowling). This says a lot about how much I know about a) sports or b) nature.
